When I started that first season I had no idea that it would lead me on a quest to go motorcycle road racing or all of the things that would happen over the three years of riding, practicing, and eventually racing - while shooting photos and video the whole time.
These five episodes highlight our huge body of work documenting my journey from the street (at age 54) to road racing (at age 57). My intention is to motivate others to follow their dreams at any age or size and to show some of the process to those that may be interested in doing a track day, getting instruction, making cool upgrades, getting a motorcycle road racing license, or racing. Binge watch them all at one time - at 1:37:29 for the total amount of time to watch them all, it is the equivelant of watching one movie. Come back and dig deeper into specific areas of my site to see more detailed videos and photos related to what you saw in the series.
Being endorsed since 1982, I had bought and ridden several street bikes over the years... many of those were sport bikes. Those that know me well, also know I grew up with a passion for video games... consequently I had played every motorcycle road racing game I could get my hands on. Combine those passions and what is exposed is a secret dream to go ride sport bikes on a race track.
Episode 1 follows my documentation of obtaining the bike, prepping it, and going to the track. I had no idea how much I didn't know... I didn't have a clue. This episode begins exposing my flaws both mentally and physically... and introduces me to two great instructors (Mark Degross and Pat O'Connor) that could not have been better for me. Featured tracks are Portland International Raceway and Oregon Raceway Park.

This episode focused on a few points: major upgrades where I upgrade my bikes, trailer, and even my pulling rig; I procured a private track twice and invited friends to come and play (and connected with some drone friends for cool shots); show some expert tuning from Dave Moss - and you get to hear him critique me while riding behind me; we focused on one of the closest championships in OMRRA history; and I finally admit my not so secret desire to one day drag a knee... and you get to see the behind the scenes photos and raw reactions when it finally happened.

This episode starts off with more bikes, and then goes into the various upgrades to prep two of the bikes (R3 and R6) to race. I show some snippets from spending time with friends, going through some of the finer parts of prepping the bikes required specifically for racing. You get to see some never before posted photos of my little crash at the end of season 2. You will see some cool footage from an endurance race we covered. I had to face some fears this season and we share the most difficult thing we have had to deal with in this quest. We introduce you to Carol Carpenter of MotoVixens at our first time riding with them, and followed that up with them again at a JP43 Instruction class with Jason Pridmore and his team - and you will hear snippets from our interviews. We also began partnering with contributing photographers in 2019, so we get more access with better cameras for some cool shots.

After deciding that I wanted to try to experience the other side of the racing wall, I knew one major thing stood between me and that wall... a racing license. I signed up for the July 2019 New Racer School with OMRRA... and this episode covers the details like the costs, and then goes into some of the details of the classroom and track sessions as the exercises change throughout the day... ending in a mock race. As usual, I had onboard cameras and we set some stationary cameras beside the start finish line to help capture some of the action.

It seems like all the experiences of my life culminated to this single event... my first motorcycle road race. Granted, I spent my life derailed doing other things and for some reason this dream was always pushed way back... thinking it could never happen for me. Well, if you've watched the previous episodes... you know I had just got my racing license. At the end of the NRS day, I got my bikes and gear teched to race the next day. This episode shows you behind the scenes leading up to that first race, action during and after the race, and then shows some major progress at Pacific Raceways which lead me to racing both bikes on the final race day of the season - which was a combined race round with both OMRRA and WMRRA clubs.
