Register your transponder with Track Intel (find link on organization website) before you go. If you are renting a transponder from the track, contact the renter to find out how and when to register it. Rental is usually under $100, or you can get that requires subscription that starts around $225 for a couple years, or you can buy a used non-subscription (which is what I did).
Normally, your club will announce when the next race registration is open and you will be able to register. Obviously during NRS you won't have a license yet, so wouldn't be able to register... but normally you can race the next race after you get your license - contact your organization for details and prices.
You can either tech the night before a race at the end of the track day, or you can tech the morning of the race. If possible, try to find someone to do a mock tech at a track day before NRS - it will remove any stress you might have about not being sure if you didn't do something right, plus give you plenty of time to adjust. The first time you tech you will need to bring your gear so they can inspect (they will also want to see your medical form in your suit). You will need to tech your helmet and bike at each round. When you go to tech, you must remove your belly pan. At the end of tech, you will be assigned a group number which lets you know which group you will be practicing in before the race.
Riders meetings are mandatory for all riders. You should already be used to this as most track day events require you to attend the morning rider's meeting.
When you get the race program, it will list practice numbers, and you will be practicing in the group that is on the decal you were issued during tech.
Things happen, and the start times posted on the schedule may not always be exact so listen closely for announcements. Ask an official if you are unsure. OMRRA first practice is usually 10 minutes.

On race day, staff are working hard to gather all last minute registrations and plot them on the grid. Check the grid assignments later in mornings.
Listen closely for the ringing bells that will count down your prep and departure to the hot pits. Don't be late or you will be starting from the hot pits, behind the entire grid.
